2011 BMW 5-Series Plug-In HybridCheck out the shiny new BMW! This is the first official image of BMW new plug-in series hybrid 5 before its debut at the Auto Shanghai in ten days. BMW Brilliance is called New Energy car, was built in collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer Brilliance and uses a long wheelbase 5-Series, only in China, as a starting point. This transmission is completely new, though, and use the 212bhp 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo in parallel with 95bhp electric motor.
When fuilly AC load, the car can travel up to 43 miles on electricity alone at a constant speed of 37 miles per hour. The battery is located in the trunk at the rear, while the gasoline engine adds about 250 additional miles - giving the car a range of 300 miles on one tank of fuel. No figures are currently available in the economy.Do not expect to see this car in the UK in the short term - is a Chinese company and will go on sale some time in 2013.
